Rheumatologists shun public sector work

Australian rheumatologists spend three-quarters of their professional time seeing private patients, new research reveals.

An AHPRA-linked survey of doctors working in eight specialist areas found that while most rheumatologists worked in both the private and public sectors, they split their time unevenly, spending 74% of it with private patients.
