Diets high in saturated fatty acids may be linked to the onset of osteoarthritis,  an Australian study in animals suggests. Cartilage degradation and subchondral bone changes similar to those seen in OA were seen in rats fed certain saturated fats, according to the researchers from Queensland University of Technology.
