Rise in ecstasy and synthetic drug use

A national survey of ecstasy and psychostimulant users found the number of people nominating ecstasy as their drug of choice jumped from 27% in 2011 to 32% this year, according to research by the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre (NDARC) at the University of New South Wales.

The increase comes on the back of reports from users that the purity of the substance has increased, the report found.
