SA hospitals suffer third IT outage in three weeks

Hospital doctors in SA have lost access to their new IT system three times in three weeks, including a 10-hour outage earlier this month.

The state government has rolled out the Enterprise Patient Administration System (EPAS) for sharing medical records in several rural hospitals and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Adelaide’s west.

It will eventually be used in all South Australia metropolitan hospitals, according to the government.
