Safety of assisted reproduction seen in HIV-serodiscordant couples

Among 39 HIV-positive clients of the program at Royal Women’s Hospital, Victoria, 26 pregnancies were achieved resulting in 19 live births.

The clinical pregnancy rate per assisted reproduction cycle was 16.2% for HIV-positive men with an HIV-negative partner and 15.4% for HIV-positive women, compared to a rate of 22.6% in HIV-negative couples undertaking assisted reproduction, the doctors said.
