Self-examination video encourages men to check skin

A group at the Queensland University of Technology found that men who received a skin awareness video and brochures on skin cancer were more likely to get their skin examined clinically than those who only received brochures.

In the randomised trial of 930 men aged older than 50, those in the video intervention group were more likely to get a whole rather than partial body check done by a doctor, and to have a malignant lesion diagnosed, compared to controls.
