Sensitivity to gluten in kids questioned
The study, comparing 15 children with gluten sensitivity, 15 with coeliac disease and 15 controls with a functional gastrointestinal disorder, showed 80% of children with gluten sensitivity experienced abdominal pain and 66% were positive for antigliadin antibodies. Those with gluten sensitivity had normal to mildly inflamed mucosa.
