Severe vasomotor symptoms in breast cancer survivors

In a study of 900 breast cancer survivors and 100 other women, with a mean age of 46 years, researchers found hot flushes and night sweats were more of a concern, more frequent and more severe in the cancer survivors after accounting for age and HRT use.

However, psychological and somatic symptoms were rated worse by participants without cancer history, possibly due to the extensive support provided to cancer patients, the researchers said.
