Should unimmunised adults be allowed to get travel visas?

TYING measles immunisation to travel visas might help progress the quest to eradicate the disease, an Australian public health specialist says.

David Durrheim, professor of public health at the University of Newcastle and a WHO adviser, has floated the idea in an editorial in the New England Journal of Medicine in which he says it’s inexcusable for aid workers not to be immunised when working in countries where measles is endemic.
