Simple test predicts CV risk in type 2

A simple blood test is all it may take to determine the level of cardiovascular risk in type 2 diabetes patients, new research shows.

The study of almost 4,000 type 2 diabetes patients from the ADVANCE trial found that measuring the biomarkers cardiac troponin  T and  N-Terminal Pro-B-Type Natriuretic Peptide (NT-proBNP) significantly improved the accuracy of predicting the likelihood of a CV event.
