Smoking cessation group launched for health professionals
The Australian Association of Smoking Cessation Professionals (AASCP) aims to promote and facilitate “optimal smoking cessation practice” incorporating pharmacotherapy and behavioural advice and support.
GPs, nurses, pharmacists, psychologists and drug and alcohol counsellors can become accredited tobacco treatment specialists with the association, which is supported by funding from Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson.
