Statins cut all-cause mortality in RA

A large US study shows significantly lower death rates in patients diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis who were initiated on statins, compared with those who weren’t.

The finding comes from a 3,000-strong cohort of RA patients prescribed statins who were matched with a similarly-sized comparator group of RA patients not on the drug.
