Stents superior to angioplasty in peripheral vascular disease
21st February 2012
By Staff writer
Researchers found 75.5% of patients receiving stents had no need for target lesion revascularisation (TLR) for three years.

This was down from 87.3% at one year, but superior to outcomes among the angioplasty group (45.2% TLR-free at one year and 41.8% at three years).
No difference was seen in rates of survival or major adverse events.
