A stimulating life delays dementia: study

A rich intellectual life in a person’s formative years may help safeguard against later dementia, a US study shows.

People who completed more years of education, had stimulating jobs and high levels of mid to late life mental activity – such as reading, an active social life and doing computer activities at least three times a week – had better cognition in old age, researchers from the Mayo Clinic found.
