Stroke after TIA on the decline

The risk of stroke after a first transient ischaemic attack (TIA) has dropped significantly over the past decade, a Victorian study reveals.

Researchers from Monash and Melbourne Universities identified around 47,000 people in Victoria who had had an incident TIA in 2001-2011, and calculated their 90-day risk of stroke by linking data from hospitals, emergency departments and death records.
