Struggle to meet heart failure needs

Australia and other OECD countries are struggling to meet the complex needs of heart failure patients, according to local and international studies.

Australian research shows clinicians are not adhering to Heart Foundation guidelines and patients are at risk of being readmitted to hospital within 30 days of discharge.

Research by the European Society of Cardiology and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) also notes a lack of adherence to guidelines.
