Study makes case for reduced salt in fast food

An international team led by the George Institute, Sydney, examined data on the salt content of items in seven product categories from six companies: Hungry Jack’s (Burger King), Domino’s Pizza, KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken), McDonald’s, Pizza Hut and Subway in Australia, Canada, France, New Zealand, the UK and the US.

“We saw marked variability in the reported salt content of products provided by major transnational fast food companies,” the study authors said.
