Study shows better memory linked to bariatric surgery

The US research compared 63 patients undergoing bariatric surgery with 23 obese controls. 

At baseline, the surgery patients had impairments in a range of cognitive functions including memory, attention and language.

However, post-surgery they showed improvements in memory and this correlated with lower BMI, the researchers found.
