Study shows green tea, coffee lowers risk of stroke

Based on surveys of 82,000 people aged 45–65 years followed for 13 years, researchers from Japan’s National Cerebral and Cardiovascular Center found daily consumption of green tea or coffee was protective compared to seldom having these beverages.

One or two cups of coffee daily reduced stroke risk by 20%, whereas three to four cups of green tea daily was required to achieve a similar degree of protection.
