Study suggests new predictors of autism
The study in 1000 typically developing infants showed that abrupt acceleration of head circumference and the absence of head tilt reflex by nine months were positive predictors of ASD.
Of the 15 children who were diagnosed as being at risk of ASD using the biomarker and other measures, 14 sustained the diagnosis.
The two measures combined had higher predictive values for autism delays than when used alone.
