Suicide risks linked to pregabalin highlighted

In just over nine years, the TGA received two reports of suicide, two cases of attempted suicide, seven cases of suicidal behaviour and 57 cases of suicidal ideation in which pregabalin (Lyrica, Pfizer) was taken.

Pregabalin, which is indicated for persistent neuropathic pain and as an adjunct therapy for partial seizures with or without secondary generalisation in adults, was the sole suspected drug taken in the two suicides.
