Survey shows what GPs make of 'designer vaginas'

IF you're a GP and you haven't fielded enquiries from women about genital normality, you're likely in the minority.

A new survey of 443 Australian GPs shows 97% have been asked the question by women of all ages. More than a third report having been asked about cosmetic genital surgery by girls aged under 18, with one reporting an inquiry from a 10-year-old.

The survey - the largest to explore GP experiences with female genital cosmetic surgery - reflects trends seen in Australia and around the world.
