Sydney siege gunman had schizophrenia

A psychiatrist diagnosed Sydney siege gunman Man Haron Monis with chronic schizophrenia in 2010 after he presented with "delusional" ideas he was being watched constantly, an inquest has heard.

Dr Kristen Barrett has told the inquest into the tragedy that Monis was referred to her in May 2010 after being hospitalised in April with dizziness and weakness attributed to mental, rather than physical, causes.
