Tai Chi effective in knee OA

Tai Chi is just as effective as physical therapy for knee osteoarthritis, a US randomised controlled trial has found.

The study presented at the American College of Rheumatology’s conference shows WOMAC pain scores improved by 176 points in the Tai Chi Group compared with 143 points in the physical therapy group.

The Tai Chi group also reported less depressive symptoms as measured by the Beck depression score
