Testicular cancer linked to cannabis

A study in California suggests that men with a history of cannabis use were twice as likely as non-users to develop nonseminoma and mixed germ cell testicular tumours, but no more likely to develop seminoma tumours.

Researchers evaluated the risk of testicular germ cell tumours (TGCT) among 163 patients aged 18 to 35 years and compared them with 292 matched controls, based on self-reports of recreational drug use.

While marijuana was associated with an elevated risk of TGCT, use of cocaine was not.
