TIA: Patients may be slow to act

The study took place in the Hunter New England Central Coast Network of Research General Practices. While in the waiting room, adult patients were asked to complete a questionnaire asking about symptoms such as sudden weakness, altered vision or trouble speaking. In these scenarios the symptoms resolved in 15 minutes.

Analysis of 854 completed surveys showed patients responded differently depending on symptoms. Nearly 96% said they would seek urgent help if they developed weakness in the arm or face. Only 59% would consider sudden dizziness
