Trauma histories go unrecorded

Most patients admitted to a psychiatric ward are not asked whether they have suffered trauma, a Melbourne study has found.

The study, which looked at a random selection of 100 women admitted to the psychiatry department at Alfred Health, found that in 51% of case files, there was no mention of whether or not a patient had a trauma-abuse history.
