Disease activity measurement is poor, study shows

Despite international guidelines advocating treat-to-target for patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), it is not yet established in everyday clinical practice, a conference has heard.

Data from a US national registry of half a million patients yielded only 51,000 with RA that were eligible to be included in a study as they had at least two measurements of disease activity in a year,  rheumatologist Professor Jeffrey Curtis said.
