Trial tests high-intensity training in diabetes

Just 12 minutes of exercise a day may be an effective way of lowering blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes, Queensland researchers say.

They’re testing their hypothesis in a new trial that is recruiting now. It will randomise type 2 patients to either a 12-minute daily program that combines high-intensity aerobic and resistance training or to current recommended practice, which involves longer periods of moderate exercise.
