Triple P can reduce disruptive behaviour

THE STUDY in 76 families randomised to the Triple P Positive Parenting Program or usual care for 12 months showed that internalising and externalising problems and the intensity and number of disruptive behaviours was improved at three months in children with existing behavioural problems.

However, while the difference was not sustained at 12 months, improvements in parental anxiety, stress and overall parenting competency in parents was maintained after 12 months for those with children who had behavioural problems. There was no difference in children with no pre-existing behavioural problems.
