True rise in coeliac disease needs investigation: study

A retrospective cohort study of diagnoses in south-east Scotland, drawing on case notes, pathology, endoscopy and other patient records, found coeliac incidence rose from 1.8 to 11.7 per 100,000 children between 1990 and 2009.
