Two-pronged HPV approach will slash adenocarcinoma rates

Australia could see up to an 80% drop in the rate of cervical adenocarcinoma in coming decades due to the combined effects of HPV vaccination and HPV screening, a study shows.

If current trends continue, about 6000 cases of malignancy could be averted in all age groups by 2040 compared with around 2000 with just vaccination alone, say the NSW researchers.
