Type 2 diabetes reversible with the right diet

Putting patients with type 2 diabetes on a very low calorie diet for eight weeks can restore normal glucose levels, reduce levels of liver and pancreatic fat, lower blood pressure and improve serum lipids, researchers say.

Even people who have long-term T2DM can attain normal glucose levels simply by going on the diet for two months, says Professor Roy Taylor of Newcastle University in the UK.
