Type 2 diabetes stable, type 1 rising

Rates of type 2 diabetes in young adults have remained steady while type 1 diabetes continues to rise, a study from NSW shows.

The average annual incidence of type 2 diabetes remained steady at 3 per 100,000 person years and did not change over the eight year study period, found the study authors led by Professor Maria Craig from the Institute of Endocrinology and Diabetes at Sydney’s Westmead Children’s Hospital.
