Upper gastrointestinal inspection with gastrografin and X-ray is generally of little value in determining the integrity of staple lines following laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, according to a retrospective review.

As Dr Joseph Vitello said by email: "Essentially the findings suggest that routine postoperative upper gastrointestinal X-rays to detect leaks in asymptomatic patients following laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy are not warranted, have a low sensitivity and represent a
