In the US, insurance status dictates care

Analysing 84,500 emergency department visits of children younger than 18 years over a decade, researchers found 45% had private insurance, 43% had public insurance and 12% had no insurance.

Those with public or no insurance were almost 25% less likely than those with private insurance to undergo testing, receive a medication, or undergo any procedure.
