Vacuum-induced control device ‘safe and effective for postpartum haemorrhage’

Rapid and effective bleeding control can be achieved using an intrauterine vacuum-induced haemorrhage control device for both vaginal and caesarean births, according to a US study in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr Dena Goffman, from the New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center in New York City, and colleagues examined the real-world effectiveness and safety of a vacuum-induced control device for postpartum haemorrhage management at 16 centres from October 2020 to March 2022.
