Vaginal douches linked to harmful chemicals
VAGINAL douching exposes women to potentially harmful endocrine-disrupting chemicals, US research suggests.
After analysing urine samples collected from 739 women, researchers found that those who douched more frequently had a greater concentration of phthalate metabolites in their urine.
This finding adds weight to current health recommendations that discourage douching in women, the authors conclude.
