Ventilator related pneumonia rates remain high

One in 10 ventilated patients will develop ventilator-assisted pneumonia (VAP), a figure that has remained consistently high for the last eight years, researchers say.

The VAP rate stayed at around 10% between 2005 and 2013, a US study has found.
