Vigorous activity during youth may prevent epilepsy

They conducted a study of 1.17 million Swedish men involving measuring their cardiovascular fitness through cycle tests when they registered for compulsory military service at the age of 18.

The men were then followed for an average 25 years.

Nearly 7000 of the men developed epilepsy. Those at the highest level of fitness at baseline were 79% less likely to develop the condition than those who were less fit.
