WA program celebrates milestone

Educators in Western Australia are celebrating the success of a six-hour program that equips people with the knowledge and skills to confidently manage their type 2 diabetes.

The program, fondly referred to as Desmond, has potentially changed the lives of 1,000 people since Diabetes WA imported it from the UK in 2011.

Desmond (Diabetes Education and Self Management for Ongoing and Newly Diagnosed) has been part of a standardised care pathway for people with diabetes in the UK since 2003.
