Watch the NSAIDs in active patients, GPs told

RENAL damage from taking anti-inflammatories before intensive exercise may be flying under the radar for many GPs, a sports medicine specialist says. 

Dr Hamish Osborne from the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand, says three separate studies conducted in the past decade show poorer outcomes for healthy athletes taking anti-inflammatories compared with those who don’t use them.
