Weight loss gives dose-related knee OA improvement

Patients undergoing a community-based diet and exercise program improved their knee osteoarthritis scores, and the more weight lost, the better the result, an Australian study shows.

The study of 1383 people with a diagnosis of knee osteoarthritis revealed a significant dose-response relationship between weight loss and scores on the Knee Injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS).
