Weight loss may improve psoriasis in obese patients

In a randomised trial of 60 patients, Danish researchers found those following a special low-calorie diet of <1000 calories per day had clinically significant reduced severity of psoriasis and improved quality of life compared to those assigned to eating ordinary healthy food.

The low-cal diet group lost a mean 15.8kg more than the control group over 16 weeks.
