Welcome news on trans-fat reduction

From 2006, US manufacturers of food and some dietary supplements were required to list TFA content within the nutritional information panels on their products.

“Findings from the CDC study demonstrate the effectiveness of these efforts in reducing blood TFAs and highlight that further reductions… must remain an important public health goal,” the researchers said. 

“The 58% decline shows substantial progress that should help lower the risk of cardiovascular disease in adults.”
