PERTUSSIS vaccination in the third trimester of pregnancy needs to be embedded in routine care – such as a checkbox in a woman’s antenatal record, specialists say.

In a review of how well evidence for maternal pertussis vaccination is being implemented, obstetricians and infectious diseases physicians say uptake is variable, from 26-62% in 2015.
