The last human case of rabies was reported in 1970.

However both wild and domestic animal cases have been reported between October, 2012, and March this year, necessitating 104 people receiving post-exposure prophylaxis, the experts said.
The infected animals included wild red foxes, a sheep-herding dog and a domestic cat.
Rabies was likely introduced by wild foxes crossing borders, the authors said.
