World-first consensus PSA guidelines

Stakeholders, including GPs, urologists, oncologists, pathologists, consumers and epidemiologists, plan a third and final meeting in May to finalise the detail of their clinical practice guidelines. The plan is for the emphasis to switch from identifying which men should be tested to what advice should be given to those who are considering a PSA test or have already been tested.

In the latest draft, the first clinical question is: What methods of decision support for men about PSA testing increase men’s capacity
