Young people unhappy with diabetes info
The self-reported survey in 150 patients, aged 18–35, showed that 56% were satisfied with education received from doctors, 73% sourced more and 30% sought info on online chat rooms and blogs.
Focus groups with 33 respondents revealed many felt their education on how to manage their diabetes was inadequate because it had been given to their parents when they were diagnosed at a young age.
They also said clinicians often did not promote new technologies.
