Zika: Has the risk of microcephaly been overblown?

DESPITE reports of a 20-fold increase in microcephaly cases in Brazil, a leading Australian infectious diseases specialist says it’s unlikely the upswing will prove to be as dramatic once more is known about links between Zika virus and the birth defect.

So far only six cases of microcephaly have definitely been linked to the virus by Brazilian authorities.
